About Dodger Stadium
Dodger Stadium in Chavez Ravine is one of the most beloved ballparks in the world. Opened in 1962, it is the third-oldest Major League Baseball stadium still in active use, behind Fenway Park and Wrigley Field, and the largest by seating capacity at 56,000. The stadium sits above Downtown LA in a natural bowl carved into the hills, offering panoramic views of the San Gabriel Mountains on clear days.
Home of the Los Angeles Dodgers, the park has hosted some of baseball's defining moments — from Sandy Koufax's perfect games to Kirk Gibson's legendary 1988 World Series home run. It has hosted MLB All-Star Games multiple times and will now add the 2028 Olympic Baseball tournament to its legacy. The park underwent a major renovation between 2013 and 2020, adding new club areas, improved concessions, and a renovated outfield plaza without altering its classic bones.
The stadium is perched above the 110 Freeway, making it car-accessible but historically difficult to reach by transit. That changed in 2025 with the opening of the Dodger Stadium Express gondola from Union Station — a 1.2-mile aerial tramway that runs on game days and will be a key connection for Olympic visitors.
Getting here: The Dodger Stadium Express gondola from Union Station is the best transit option — a 4-minute aerial ride that lands directly at the stadium. Metro B Line and Red Line both serve Union Station. Rideshare drop-off is on Academy Road. Parking lots open 2.5 hours before first pitch for double-headers.

Transit & Parking
Dodger Stadium Express Gondola
The aerial gondola from Union Station is the fastest and easiest way to get to the stadium without a car. The 1.2-mile ride takes about 4 minutes and drops you right at the stadium plaza. Union Station is served by Metro B, D, and J Lines, as well as Amtrak, Metrolink, and buses from across the region.
Rideshare & driving
Rideshare drop-off and pick-up is on Academy Road off Stadium Way. Expect elevated surge pricing for Gold Medal game night. The stadium has large parking lots accessible from Stadium Way and Elysian Park Ave.
Olympics traffic disclaimer: Travel times during LA28 will vary significantly. The gondola from Union Station will likely be high-demand on game nights — arrive early. Double-header days (two sessions) may see queues build up between sessions.
