About DTLA Arena
DTLA Arena — officially Crypto.com Arena, and known until 2021 as Staples Center — is the premier indoor arena in Los Angeles and one of the most recognizable sports venues in the United States. Opened in October 1999, the arena sits in the South Park neighborhood of Downtown LA as part of the LA Live entertainment complex, surrounded by hotels, restaurants, and the Grammy Museum.
The arena has been home to the LA Lakers and LA Kings for its entire existence, and hosted the Clippers until their move to Intuit Dome in 2024. With a capacity of 20,000 for most events, it has also hosted four NBA All-Star Games, two NHL All-Star Games, and numerous boxing world championship bouts — making it a fitting home for the 2028 Olympic Boxing Finals. The arena will also host Artistic Gymnastics (the highest-demand ticket at most Olympics) and Trampoline Gymnastics.
Its location at the heart of the LA Live campus means fans have immediate access to dozens of dining options, hotels including JW Marriott and Ritz-Carlton, and the Microsoft Theater — all within a 5-minute walk.
Getting here: Metro L Line (Gold) and J Line (Silver) stop at Pico Station, one block from the arena. The B and D Lines stop at 7th/Metro Center, a 10-minute walk. Rideshare drop-off is on Figueroa St. The LA Live complex has parking structures — expect higher prices and demand during Olympic events.

Transit & Parking
Metro lines
Metro L Line (Gold) / J Line (Silver) — Pico Station is one block from the arena entrance on Figueroa. Both lines serve key hubs across the region. The B/D Lines at 7th/Metro Center are a 10-minute walk and connect to the entire rail network including the E Line (Expo) and A Line (Gold).
LA Live campus
The arena is surrounded by the LA Live complex — you can spend an entire day at Crypto.com Arena without needing a car. Hotels, restaurants, and the Grammy Museum are all within steps of the gates.
Gymnastics note: Artistic Gymnastics is consistently the hardest Olympic ticket to find. If you have Gymnastics sessions in your itinerary, prioritize your transit plan — these sessions will draw maximum crowds and the area around Figueroa St will be heavily congested.
