About 2028 Stadium
2028 Stadium — officially SoFi Stadium — sits in Inglewood, just 3 miles from LAX, making it one of the most accessible Olympic venues for international travelers flying into Los Angeles. Opened in September 2020 with a standard capacity of 70,240, the stadium will serve as the primary Swimming venue for the 2028 Games and will co-host the Opening Ceremony alongside LA Memorial Coliseum.
Designed by HKS Architects, the stadium bowl sits 100 feet below street level — a deliberate engineering decision forced by FAA height restrictions, since the stadium is positioned directly under LAX flight paths. The translucent ETFE roof panels allow natural light while managing the climate, giving the venue a genuinely outdoor feel despite full coverage overhead. The roof structure also uses triple pendulum seismic dampers — an industry first — keeping the building safe despite sitting just 500 yards from an active earthquake fault.
The stadium is the centerpiece of Hollywood Park, a 298-acre mixed-use development on the former Hollywood Park racetrack site, which includes the adjacent 6,000-seat YouTube Theater, retail, dining, a casino, and parkland — all walkable from the stadium gates.
Getting here: Take the Metro K Line to Downtown Inglewood Station — a free shuttle runs directly to the stadium from there. If using rideshare, drop-off is on the northbound curb lane on Kareem Court, accessed via westbound Pincay Drive from Crenshaw Blvd. Expect significant surge pricing during Opening and Closing Ceremony nights — plan for transit or book rideshare well in advance.

Transit & Parking
Travelling from another venue?
For the most accurate transit estimates between this venue and others on your schedule, add your events to the trip planner and use the built-in transit estimator — it calculates driving and public transit times between your consecutive venues automatically.
Olympics traffic disclaimer: All transit estimates are based on pre-Games conditions. Actual travel times during the 2028 Games will vary significantly due to road closures, Olympic lane restrictions, and elevated demand across all transit modes. Build in extra buffer time — especially between sessions at different venues on the same day.
