The venue
About This Venue
Venice Beach is one of the most recognized stretches of Southern California coastline — a 2.5-mile oceanfront boardwalk known globally for its street performers, basketball courts, Muscle Beach, and the laid-back LA beach culture it embodies. For the 2028 Olympics, Venice Beach becomes the start/finish hub for three of the Games' most visually spectacular outdoor events.
Triathlon — all three events (Women's Individual, Men's Individual, Mixed Relay) use the beach and surrounding waterfront for the swim leg and finish. Cycling Road Race finishes here on July 22–23 after riders complete circuits through the hills of greater LA. And both Marathon events (July 29–30) finish here on the final weekend of competition — among the last athletic moments of LA28. Spectating at Venice Beach requires no arena seating; the beach and boardwalk serve as the finish area.
More venue details coming. LA28 has not yet confirmed the exact spectator access zones, road closure maps, or ticketing structure for open-air Venice Beach events. Some or all sessions may have free spectator viewing in designated areas along the course — check official LA28 guidance closer to the Games.
Getting here: The Metro E Line (Expo) terminates at Downtown Santa Monica (4th & Colorado), roughly 2 miles north of Venice Beach — walkable or a short rideshare. Multiple Big Blue Bus and Metro bus lines serve Venice Beach directly from throughout West LA. Driving and parking near the beach will be severely limited on event days.

Transit & Access
Metro E Line + bus
The Metro E Line (Expo) terminates at Downtown Santa Monica, about 2 miles north. From there, Big Blue Bus Line 1 and several Metro bus lines run south to Venice Beach. A rideshare from Santa Monica Station to the beach is also practical.
Bus direct
Metro bus lines serve Ocean Front Walk and Washington Blvd directly from multiple points across West LA and Santa Monica. Check Metro's trip planner for your starting point.
Road closures apply. All Triathlon, Road Race, and Marathon sessions require significant road closures along the course. Driving to the finish area is impractical on event mornings — plan for transit or walking from nearby neighborhoods. Cycling and Marathon routes will be published by LA28 closer to the Games.
