About OKC Softball Park

Oklahoma City has long been the home of USA Softball — the national governing body has been based in OKC since the 1980s, and the city built a dedicated softball complex around it. The venue at 2801 NE 50th St is the flagship facility, having hosted World Championships, national team training, and elite collegiate events for decades. It is the most recognized purpose-built softball facility in the United States.

For LA28, the Olympic Women's Softball tournament is assigned entirely to Oklahoma City — all 17 sessions (July 23–29) take place here, including the Bronze Medal Game and the Gold Medal Game. This makes OKC the only out-of-state venue in the 2028 Olympic program and a destination trip for softball fans making the pilgrimage from Los Angeles.

More venue details coming. Seating configurations, parking logistics, and fan zones for the Olympic competition have not yet been announced. We'll update this page as LA28 releases operational details closer to the Games.

Out-of-state travel: Oklahoma City is approximately 1,200 miles from Los Angeles. Will Rogers World Airport (OKC) has direct flights from LAX. Flight time is around 2.5 hours. Plan for hotel bookings well in advance — Oklahoma City accommodation will sell out during the Olympic softball window.

Travel & Getting Around OKC

Flying from Los Angeles

Will Rogers World Airport (OKC) is the main airport for Oklahoma City, with direct flights from LAX typically running 2.5 hours. Book early — flight and hotel availability in OKC during the July 23–29 window will tighten significantly as the Games approach. Alternative airports include Tulsa (TUL), about 100 miles east.

Getting to the venue

The venue is on the northeast side of Oklahoma City. Rideshare (Uber, Lyft) is the most straightforward option from the airport or downtown hotels. OKC's public transit is limited by LA standards, so most fans will use rideshare or rental cars. The drive from downtown OKC is approximately 10–15 minutes without event traffic.

Driving

Parking is available on-site and in surrounding areas. OKC is more car-dependent than LA Olympics venues — if you're renting a car, book well in advance alongside your flight and hotel.

Plan around the schedule: With 17 sessions across 7 days and up to 3 games per day during preliminary rounds, many fans are choosing to stay the full week rather than fly in for individual sessions. Consider a week-long trip from July 23 to July 29 to catch the tournament arc from opening day through the Gold Medal Game.

Back in Los Angeles

If you're combining a trip to OKC Softball with LA-based events, softball wraps up July 29 — leaving the remainder of the LA28 Games (closing ceremonies, Athletics finals, Basketball finals) still ahead. Check the planner for session availability at other venues.

Fans pairing softball with LA events often look at SoFi Stadium (Swimming, Opening Ceremony) or Peacock Theater (Boxing, Weightlifting) as DTLA anchors for the broader Games trip.
